FALL FOOD IDEAS: CHEWY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES FROM SCRATCH

THE SECRETS IN THE PUDDING

Who doesn't love a soft chocolate chip cookie, any time of year? They are like the LBD (little black dress) of baked goods. There are always a million recipes to choose from, all with yummy variations but this recipe is both soft, chewy and full of yummy goodness.

Only 9 ingredients needed:

4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups butter (4 sticks), softened
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
6.8 ounces instant vanilla pudding mix (2 small boxes)
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix together flour and baking soda, then set aside.

In large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Beat in pudding mix until blended. Mix  in the eggs one at a time and then add the vanilla.

Stir in dry ingredients just until flour disappears. Add in the chocolate chips.

Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto uncreased cookie sheets.

Bake for 12 minutes in oven or until edges are golden brown.
