QUICK MOM MAKEUP ROUTINE: MY 6 MAKEUP ESSENTIALS

Let's Face it, I didn't Wake Up Like This

Getting ready use to be a luxury of mine. I would spend at least an hour getting ready in the mornings, not because I needed to put on a mask but because makeup was something I enjoyed. I would leisurely go through my beauty stash, pick a look, crank up the music and get to work.

That style of getting ready, is no longer an option. At least not a daily one. I still enjoy getting ready, I have just paired down my routine to accommodate being a mom as well.

Here are my 6 must have beauty items to feel put together:

1. Foundation
I wish I had the kind of skin that could skip this step. I suffer from redness and uneven skin tone. Therefore, I feel more comfortable with a light, moisturizing foundation to even my complexion. (Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is a favorite of mine because it has a natural finish and a no fuss application. You can even apply it with your fingers, if you are in a pinch.)

2. Under Eye Concealer
Well, this item is pretty self explanatory. New Mom and sleepless nights is the perfect recipe for puffy and dark circles. I'm convinced that concealer is like magic, if only I felt as rested as my eyes looked. Now, that would really be something. (Garner Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roller goes on in one easy step and does't settle into fine lines.)
3. Bronzer
I hesitate to add bronzer to the list. When I picture bronzer, I think of fake orange (#nightmare) but that isn't what I'm referring to. The right bronzer helps you achieve a healthy, sun kissed appearance,  even if you have been cooped up in the house for days. (Hourglass bronzers are extremely natural and have a light sheen, that adds a subtle glow to your skin.)

4. Blush
Just like bronzer, blush is a great way to perk up your complexion. (Hourglass blushes are again, easy to apply and have a nice luminosity. It is like instant pregnancy glow, even after your baby is here.)
5. Eyebrow Powder
Eyebrows naturally define the face, without appearing harsh or overdone. I gravitate towards a eyebrow powder, it is difficult to mess up with powder. Sometimes Evie likes to hang on my lap while I beatify. Error free products can withstand a wiggling baby. (Anastasia brow powder duo is my go too. The shades look natural, apply smooth and the two options allow me to amp up a daytime brown in one step.)

6. Macara
If you only make time for one step, this is your step. Mascara opens the eyes, making you look well rested. It also, defines and adds the right amount of drama, taking your look from just woke up to tackle the day. (Buxom mascara is perfection. It lengthens and volumizes lashes, without clumping.)
