Details: PinkBlush Maxi Dress

Finding out I was pregnant was such exciting time but growing out of my clothes was less than. I'm a bit of a fashionista and love feeling put together. The idea of buying an entirely new wardrobe was overwhelming because it was only for a finite amount of time, 10 months to be exact. I struggled to balance what items were practical and would still make me feel confident.

EXCITING NEWS: PinkBlush is giving one lucky reader a $50 gift card. They specialize in clothes for every stage of life including maternity and nursing items. Leave a comment on this post and you will be entered into the giveaway. Winner will be announced Monday, October 3.

Here are my 8 must have items for your maternity wardrobe:

1. The Wrap Dress
A wrap dress will grow with your baby bump. It can hide an early pouch before you have revealed your news and then emphasis your proud belly, come third trimester.

2. The Maxi Dress
Who doesn't love a maxi dress, pregnant or not. They are easy to wear and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Perfect option for a wedding, holiday party or your baby shower.

4. Jeans
Maternity jeans are a must and something I invested in early during my pregnancy. I opted for the expandable waist band ones, they made me, dare I say, feel normal. Plus, they are perfect for postpartum recovery without being a dead giveaway, that you are still rocking your maternity pants.

Cardigans, kimonos, fly-aways or whatever other name you prefer, are the perfect pregnancy accessory. This is your opportunity to add some versatility to your wardrobe without breaking the bank. How? Use cardigans you already own, since they are open in the front, the will still fit, no matter how big that bump is getting.

8. Flats
I live in heels but by week 24, my feet were killing me. It was time to switch over to flats but I refused to be stuck in sneakers for the rest of my pregnancy. I owned a few pairs of shoes that were both comfortable and versatile.Check your closet, if you don't have any flat and comfortable shoes, go grab a pair or two. They key is to get something that you will wear even after baby arrives.
